I love being able to see very quickly what an image looks like in B&W, I know its not a huge deal but some work better. I know its not the same as film and I kind of miss good B&W film sometimes but it will suffice for now.

HRAFF complete

Today I finished the shooting for HRAFF. I've seen some very heat wrenching films and heard some great insight into human rights issues across the world. I would have liked to done more but there is only so much time in the day. My next task is to sort through the images I've taken process them and send them back to the festival for their use. I look forward to next year.

Packaging hard copies

I am trying to figure out an effective method of packaging prints or postcards which I will to presenting at this new market but I am coming up slightly blank, does anyone have any suggestions ? Predominantly the prints will be small A4 A5 with the odd larger one.  I am thinking something along the lines of plastic envelopes  with card inside as a backing but this seems kind of standard, there must be another way.

Theft

My wife's computer was stolen, with all her recent PhD research and a whole load of my photos on it... not so good. Thankfully it was fully insured, So we will get a new one soon. On a more positive note I am going to be a part of the new Fitzroy market.. will write more when I know what  I'm doing with it. The market at this point is not fully defined and there isn't a launch date but it will be a great way to get more exposure.

Church

Originally uploaded by www.andrewwurster.com
I have walked past this church for ten years and have never been inside. For five years I have photographed the exterior. Today I finally got inside and took a couple of the interior, not the greatest shots ever but it was good to shoot in the church. There must be some latent religosity in me beacause it felt a bit wrong. The shots are the greatest I hope be able to over come my fear or paranoia and shoot inside this church proficiently soon

I have scored myself another photography gig, albeit in a volunteer capacity at HRAFF or the Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, which is run by two of my esteemed ex housemates Evelyn Tadros and Paul Martin. We haven't worked out where exactly I'm going with this project yet but its an exciting opportunity. Pictures start soon

550am Queens Parade

I have really been enjoying the fact that my job requires me to be up and out of the house before six am recently. Due to the on set of winter temperatures have plummeted and the fog has arrived. Morning scenes are very evocative, can't stop shooting. Although I have been neglecting to charge my camera and this morning I ran out of juice... but I will be charged and ready to go for tomorrow
